The writer of any thread/posting that is deleted may have their rights to read or contribute to this board withdrawn by the Moderator for a period of at least 14 days.
Adhere to decency and refrain from abusive or hateful language. Do not direct or imply unpleasant or demeaning contributions towards individuals or groups. While in a debate or having a difference of opinion, respect other members for their different opinions.
We will suspend members from the Comment Board who make attacks on others, either overtly or subtly.
Do not post material that antagonizes, harasses or creates hostility toward another member. If you are angry with someone in the forum, take it up with him/her privately. Ensure that if your post is ‘controversial’ it is not possible to identify the people concerned. If for example, posting an incident from a bridge table, do not identify the room/table or others who were at the table at the time of the event. ‘Smudge’ the details that would enable identification.
If your posting is or may be the subject of an Ethics Incident Report – DO NOT POST IT.
Do not make posts simply to interfere with the normal flow of amicable dialogue.
Please practice general ‘netiquette’ at all times.
Do not write your messages in ALL CAPS, as it makes you look like as if you're screaming. Do not incite excesses by pointless provocative posts*.
Respect each person's views and questions – even when you may not agree with them.
Racial/Religious or other personal attacks will not be tolerated.
Before you post a message or question, check to see if this has been discussed before and if your post actually adds to the discussion.
Any posting which in the opinion of Management breaches this Code of Practice will be removed and the poster is likely to be banned from using (viewing or contributing) this Comment Board for an appropriate period of time.
If the posting has caused offence or hurt to another member or members then that ban will only be lifted after the poster has provided Management with a full and proper apology which may be posted on the Comment Board under the title "Member Apology"*.
If you see a thread/post deleted or closed, do not post a new message asking where the thread/post went or why it was closed. Do not re-start it!
